We often lose ourselves in the density of repetition, yet loss is not a total absence; it leaves behind fragments, subtle sensations, and slow movements that resist clear description. My work originates from a contemplation of the Japanese architectural concept Ma (間)—the void or interval that connects the interior and the exterior. In my practice, this manifests as minimalist lines and overlapping structures that create a tangible site where time can linger, providing a foundational space for these fragile remnants to finally find a place to rest.

The repetitive process of rubbing, erasing, and layering on the surface serves as a meditative dialogue between perfection and imperfection. These accumulated layers are not mere images, but unique places onto which my breath and physical presence are deeply projected; the specific tension where planes meet and divide visualizes the essence of Ma—a space that is empty yet profoundly full. Ultimately, I hope my work functions as a window that allows the audience to look beyond, offering a quiet interval to find their own rhythm of breathing and sense the faint, often unnoticed echoes of life.
